Activities of tedizolid and comparators were evaluated against gram-positive isolates responsible for skin and skin structure infections, pneumonia, and bloodstream infections. Non-duplicate gram-positive isolates (8011) were collected from 20 European countries/regions.
Tedizolid (0.12?mg/L) showed similar results of minimum inhibitory concentration required to inhibit the growth of 50% of organisms (MIC50) regardless of pathogen/group or infection type, except for coagulase-negative staphylococci, Enterococcus faecalis, and viridans group streptococci (VGS), against which tedizolid had MIC50 values of 0.06, 0.25, and 0.06?mg/L, respectively. Similar results of tedizolid MIC50 and minimum inhibitory concentration required to inhibit the growth of 90% of organisms (MIC90) (MIC50/90, 0.12/0.12?mg/L) were obtained against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and methicillin-susceptible S. aureus. Tedizolid, linezolid, and daptomycin were active against enterococci. Tedizolid (MIC90, 0.12–0.25?mg/L), ceftaroline (MIC90, 0.12?mg/L), and vancomycin (MIC90, 0.25–0.5?mg/L) had the lowest MIC90 values against Streptococcus pneumoniae and VGS, whereas ceftaroline (MIC90, ≤0.015?mg/L), penicillin (MIC90, ≤0.06?mg/L), ceftriaxone (MIC90, ≤0.06–0.12?mg/L), and tedizolid (MIC90, 0.12?mg/L) were the most potent against β-haemolytic streptococci.
Tedizolid displayed potent activity against gram-positive isolates from Europe, regardless of infection type. 相似文献
Multilevel models have long been used by health geographers working on questions of space, place, and health. Similarly, health geographers have pursued interests in determining whether or not the effect of an exposure on a health outcome varies spatially. However, relatively little work has sought to use multilevel models to explore spatial variability in the effects of a contextual exposure on a health outcome. Methodologically, extending multilevel models to allow intercepts and slopes to vary spatially is straightforward. The purpose of this paper, therefore, is to show how multilevel spatial models can be extended to include spatially varying covariate effects. We provide an empirical example on the effect of agriculture on malaria risk in children under 5 years of age in the Democratic Republic of Congo. 相似文献
A pulmonary artery (PA) sling is a very rare congenital cardiovascular anomaly, and only a few studies have reported PA slings in fetuses. The relationship of the PA, aorta, ductus arteriosus, and trachea can be evaluated in the 3‐vessel and 3‐vessel and trachea views during fetal echocardiography. A PA sling can be detected by abnormal positioning of the left PA in relation to the trachea when sweeping from the 3‐vessel view cranially to the 3‐vessel and trachea view. Here we report 3 cases of fetal PA slings and their follow‐ups. Two cases were confirmed by postnatal echocardiography, and the other case was confirmed by a cardiovascular cast after pregnancy termination. We emphasize that the 3‐vessel and 3‐vessel and trachea views are of crucial importance in the prenatal diagnosis of a PA sling. 相似文献
PurposeTo evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the intranasal tear neurostimulator (ITN) in improving dry eye symptoms assessed in a controlled adverse environment (CAE®).MethodsStudy 1: Multicenter, subject-masked, randomized-sequence, crossover design. Single intranasal (active) and extranasal (control) ITN administration during CAE exposure. Study 2: Single-arm, open-label design. Intranasal ITN administration ≥2 times/day for 45 days, CAE assessment at days 0 and 45. In both studies, upon CAE entry, and every 5 min thereafter, subjects assessed eye dryness score (visual analog scale, 0–100 mm; EDS-VAS), and ocular discomfort score (ODS; Ora Calibra™, 0–4), for ≈2 h. Study 1: when ODS was ≥3 at 2 consecutive timepoints, subjects applied ITN intranasally or extranasally for ≈3 min, and again when achieving the same ODS criteria in randomized sequence. Study 2: days 0 and 45, ITN was applied for ≈3 min employing the same ODS criteria as Study 1.ResultsStudy 1: Significantly greater pre- to post-application reductions in mean [SEM] EDS (−16.5 [1.7] vs −3.1 [1.7], P < 0.0001) and ODS (−0.93 [0.08] vs −0.34 [0.08], P < 0.0001; n = 143) with intranasal vs extranasal stimulation. Study 2: On day 0 (n = 52) and day 45 (n = 48), significant pre- to post-application reductions in mean [SEM] EDS (−15.9 [2.7] and −15.2 [2.4]; P < 0.0001), and ODS (−1.3 [0.2] and −1.3 [0.1]; P < 0.0001). Few device-related adverse events were reported, none serious.ConclusionsAcute symptom relief is significant with the ITN and remains undiminished after daily use. 相似文献
